HOW WILL THE PROGRAM BE IMPLEMENTED?

PHASE 1:  APPLICATION (16 June - 24 July 2016)

During the application phase (5 weeks), we invite you to join an ideation workshop, where you will learn how to conceptualize your idea with a clear business approach and a pitching workshop, where you will learn how to pitch your startup idea to a panel of experts and entrepreneurs. From all applications received, six - eight finalists will be selected to proceed to the next phase.

KEY DATES

16 June 2016 - Open for submissions

22 June 2016 - Ideation workshop at Impact Hub Manila (whole day event 9am - 6pm)

21 July 2016 - Pitching workshop at Impact Hub Manila

06 August 2016 - Final pitch day

GET TO THE FINAL PITCH DAY EARLY

We are hosting a number of short "sprint" challenges in between the submission dates to give the community a chance to send your idea through to the finals early. If your idea gets the highest votes on the four sprint challenge deadlines you will receive an automatic entry to the final pitch day. The dates to aim for are:

1 July 2016 10pm

08 July 2016 10pm

15 July 2016 10pm

We will remind you about these dates throughout. Build support for your idea by inviting your friends, supporters and wider network. We have also found that if you comment on other people's ideas your own idea is more likely to get additional attention too!

PHASE 2: COHORT

The cohort is an intensive 2-month acceleration phase, targeting the development of a full business model and/or prototype, as well as other key competencies and start-up skills. The six - eight finalists will also gain access to a personal coach, valuable networks and a stimulating workspace at Impact Hub Manila. At the end of this phase, two to three startup teams will be selected as Impact Hub Fellows and proceed to the incubation phase.

PHASE 3: INCUBATION

The goal for the Fellows during the 6-month incubation phase is to build a management team, found a legal entity, develop and test a prototype and/or enter the market and secure additional funding as well as customer contacts. During this phase, the Fellows will receive significant seed funding as well as connections to peer entrepreneurs, coaches, and other valuable contacts. These relationships, combined with focused skill development and access to a vibrant community of change-makers in an inspiring work atmosphere, help facilitate the start-up of a thriving social business.
