Access to energy is essential to sustain economic growth and provide the basic services of our society. LTFRB has a moratorium on issuing jeepney franchises to ICE (internal combustion engine)/diesel jeeps. Lots of places still need jeeps and have been experimenting with using eJeepneys. But the battery technology being employed locally leaves much to be desired. These currently available eJeepneys have high cost of ownership due short battery lifespan, low endurance requiring constant charging, and batteries weighing as much as the passengers, leading to decreased efficiency. Diesel Jeepneys...

People face trash problem everyday. We try to segregate but the segregated trash end up in the same pile of waste. We only wish we could help do the third R (recycle) in the well-known 3R of solid waste management but we either have no time, or, we have no space, or, we are not encouraged at all. In Cash 4 Trash, we organize waste pickers, we engage households and commercial establishments in segregating and recycling by being partners. Yes! Partners!

Housing is becoming increasingly expensive, in terms of building development. The process of building a house not only costs a lot of money, but also takes a lot of time and manpower. A major factor in these high costs is procuring, transporting, and assembling the necessary materials like cement and wood. Another problem addressed by 3D PrintEarth is the alarming rate of waste generation in the Philippines. As of 2011, the Philippines generate 35,000 tons of waste everyday, 16% of...

It is vital for this generation to have an on-going power source in the middle of a Blackout; hence an alternative source will be available to accommodate the need of having a source of electricity. Not only this, we also aim to lessen the use of hazardous and toxic by-products such as coal and fuel that is being burned to have an amount of energy for some generators which we all know has a significant effect to environment. This project also will allow regular consumers to have an...

We are faced with the problem of worsening traffic congestions in the country, particularly in Metro Manila. Vehicles on the road are multiplying, and not only this leads to worse traffic conditions, but worsening air pollution as well. Moreover, traditional express courier services use vehicles that can barely pass through busy streets while contributing to air pollution. Estimated time of arrival keeps on extending because of these traffic conditions so these companies can't deliver...

Transport in many small island communities in the Philippines is crippled due to the high cost of boat travel, averaging 1000 pesos per hour of travel, or roughly 5 DAYS' worth of income for a rural family living in small islands, the very people who need to travel by boat. With a crippled transport comes trade limitations, which in turn impact their livelihood. These communities tend to have subsistence economies because of this, and at that economic level, they are often neglected by...

We offer another alternative solution for companies, institutions or businesses who want to use renewable energy but does not want the conventional wind turbine or solar panels that exist in the market today.  by combining art + renewable energy generation we created kinetic wind sculptures that would add aesthetic beauty to existing scenery and provide usable energy to power a multitude of devices  that incidentally solves other user specific problems.  examples of these would be;...

There is a direct correlation between energy and development. As such, energy access is one of the Sustainable Development Goals because 1.3 billion people worldwide still do not have electricity. One of the basic use of energy is lighting which affects education, security, productivity, and health. Because of geographic and economic reasons, off-grid communities resort to kerosene and candles for lighting that are hazardous, expensive, less reliable, and has poor quality. These communities...
